Course Description and Background
Digitization in general and Information Technology in particular have significantly influenced the way people and institutions communicate. This course targets new presentation forms and modes, ranging from emojis and GIFs to augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), and discusses their characteristics as well as their economic, political and communicative effects (such as communication quality and customer valuation).

In this course, students will receive a research question regarding digital presentation modes; they will be asked to answer this question in the form of a graded presentation and a graded short academic paper.

Learning objectives are the following: students learn and practice how to answer an academic research question on their own. This includes the identification of an appropriate research method, carrying out the research and presenting it both orally and in written form.
